1. Tutor

Job Description

  • Provide theoretical and clinical instructions to students to expected standards to ensure mastery of skills and good performance standards.
  • Monitor students’ performance to maintain outstanding institutional standards.
  • Offer guidance and counselling to promote discipline and a good learning environment.
  • Develop and review curricula in line with Nursing Council requirements.
  • Develop and coordinate extra curriculum activities for students.
  • Ensure proper management and use of resources in a cost effective manner.
  • Prepare learning materials and maintain student’s records and registers.

Requirements

BSc Nursing or KRN/KRM with an all-around working experience of at least 6 years in a senior nursing position.

 

2. Plumber

Job Description

  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance on plumbing work in the hospital
  • Undertake repairs of all mechanical defects reported daily or during inspection such as leaking pipes, sinks, taps, blocked toilets and bathrooms.
  • Carry out periodic checks and inspections of potential plumbing defects within the hospital to establish plumbing repair and maintenance requirements.
  • Requisition for plumbing materials and supplies within the workshop stores necessary for efficient delivery of services
  • Ensure tidiness and safety of plumbing workstations and sites within the hospital
  • Provide on the job training and supervision of staff and trainees attached to the department.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Plumber.
  • At least three (3) years’ experience as a skilled plumber preferably in a setup.
  • Familiarity with plumbing services and equipment associated with hospitals.
  • A team player and flexible person able to work with minimum supervision.

3. Registered Community Nurse

Job Description

  • Provide ART and care to people living with HIV/AIDs and work with community-based groups on follow-ups to ensure adherence.
  • Provide support to community-based groups on home-based care.
  • Participate in clinic-based training sessions designed to educate patients and caregivers concerning HIV and ART.

Qualifications

  • KRCHN – Diploma in Nursing
  • Basic HIV/AIDS counseling skills.
  • 2 years Hospital/ Community nursing experience
  • Must demonstrate genuine interests in community work and care to people infected and affected by HIV/AIDs.

 

4.Payroll Accountant

Job Description

  • Accurate preparation of the hospital payroll by scheduled dates and administration of statutory deduction by deadlines.
  • Update the system with details of new staff and work out terminal dues for those exiting.
  • Facilitate opening of bank accounts and registration of NSSF, NHIF and PIN for new staff.
  • Handle payment queries from staff.

Requirements

  • BCom or equivalent and CPA II.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar position. Hospital experience will be an added advantage

 

5. Housekeeping Supervisor

Job Description

  • Supervise activities of housekeeping to ensure proper cleanliness, safety and infection control standards.
  • Visit assigned areas and make sure that cleaning is being done according to the standard and that schedules are followed.
  • Inspect all patients’ rooms after checkout and release for new admissions only when they have met the prescribe cleanliness standards.
  • Arrange adequate staff coverage to all areas by distributing staff efficiently on daily basis.
  • Inspect all equipment on daily basis to ensure they are clean and in good operational condition.
  • Handle all cleaning request by assigning the concerned person
  • Ensure control and efficient use of supplies.
  • Provide on the job training to staff.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Housekeeping and Laundry.
  • 5 years’ experience with at least 2 years in a similar position.
  • Experience in a Hospital set up will be an added advantage.
  • Good team leader.

6. Head Of Housekeeping

Job Description

  • Planning, organizing and directing activities in the Units to ensure high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, orderliness and general ambiance of the entire Hospital.
  • Develop and implement Housekeeping, Laundry and Gardening policies and procedures
  • Determine optimum staffing levels and ensure all new staff are orientated and trained in handling machines, working tools, chemicals and detergents.
  • Prepare the departmental budget and ensure adequate supply of stocks, efficient use of resources and accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory legislation in relation to Occupational Health and Safety, Quality
  • Assurance Standards and Fumigation activities as well as
  • Liaise with the nursing team to implement and enforce hospital infection prevention and control protocols.
  • Liaise with Maintenance Department to ensure periodical preventive maintenance of equipment and arrange for replacement of obsolete equipment and working tools.
  • Review staff performance and organize training to ensure continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Degree in Hotel and Institutional Management or related field.
  • At least 8 years’ experience with at least 2 years in a Supervisory Level in a busy establishment.
  • Knowledge of hygiene and sanitary standards.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping work procedures and equipment.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.

 

7. Biomedical Engineer

Job Description

  • Carrying out preventive maintenance and repairs of medical equipment.
  • Carrying out calibration and verification of the performance of key medical equipment
  • Liaising with departments to roll out the maintenance schedule.
  • Maintaining job cards for each job assigned.
  • Participating in training user departments on handling medical equipment.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Bio-Medical Engineering
  • 3 years’ experience in medical equipment maintenance.
  • Good organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills

8. Accident & Emergency Unit Medical Officers

Job Description

  • Ethically reviewing and instituting appropriate therapeutic interventions for patients presenting to the outpatient department.
  • Reviewing and instituting appropriate medical interventions in other units of the hospital where medical review is required.
  • Managing medical emergencies in line with advanced life support protocols
  • Performing medical procedures expected of a medical officer.
  • Ensuring that high standards of diagnostic accuracy and patient care are maintained
  • Preparing medical reports and other standard clinical documents as required
  • Ensuring professionalism and timeliness in handling of clients at both individual and departmental level
  • Participating in continuous medical education and the development of departmental clinical protocols, quality improvement plans, and initiatives
  • Participating in research, clinical audits and review programmes for the department
  • Ensuring consistency in the clinical protocols and provision of care.
  • Ensuring adequate communication with clients with regards to their illness.
  • Ensuring appropriate referral for patients requiring specialized care
  • Participating in hospital CSR and outreach activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery
  • Sound training in BLS, ACLS and ATLS
  • Competence in the accident and emergency procedures and protocols
  • Highly analytical, excellent diagnostician
  • Team player, excellent inter-personal skills, self-motivated and able to work under pressure with minimum supervision
  • Must be registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners & Dentist Board and on the retention register
  • Vast experience in a similar healthcare setting will be an added advantage

9. Intensive Care Unit Medical Officers

Job Responsibilities

  • Ethically reviewing and instituting appropriate therapeutic interventions for patients admitted to ICU/HDU or requiring critical care across the hospital.
  • Reviewing patients in other units where ICU/HDU support is needed and making appropriate decisions on interventions required.
  • Assisting in coaching and mentoring of intern doctors, junior MOs and nursing staff on various aspects of critical care and management of critical illness.
  • Performing medical procedures expected of an ICU medical officer.
  • Ensuring that high standards of diagnostic accuracy and patient care are maintained
  • Preparing medical reports and other clinical documents as required
  • Ensuring professionalism and timeliness in handling of clients at both individual and departmental level
  • Participating in continuous medical education and the development of departmental clinical protocols, quality improvement plans, and initiatives
  • Participating in research, clinical audits and review programmes for the department
  • Ensuring consistency in the clinical protocols and provision of care.

  • Must be able to work closely with a multi-disciplinary team excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivated and able to work under pressure with minimum supervision
